Guided walks

A series of guided walks in and around the local area begins on Sunday 30 March.

Chris Richards of North Somerset Council's Ranger and Museum services will be leading a walk around Weston Cemetery where you can hear tragic stories and trace history back to the Bronze Age.

The walk will begin at 2pm and last approximately two and a half hours. Meet at the top gates to the cemetery in Lower Bristol Road, Weston-super-Mare. There will be some steep gradients and steps during the walk, please come with appropriate footwear and clothing. There is a £3 charge per person.

This is the first of this year's programme of guided walks and talks organised by North Somerset Council's Ranger Service and Museum Service. The walks include topics such as the geology, history and other aspects of the environment and scenery around North Somerset. On Sunday 13 April Chris will be leading a walk around the Priddy lead mines and on Sunday 27 April the medieval fishpond of the Black Canons will form the centrepiece of a walk in Abbots Leigh.

Full details of the programme of walks are available at Weston-super-Mare Tourist Information Centre, North Somerset Museum and from your local library. For further information on the walks contact Chris Richards on 01934 621028 or email museum.service@n-somerset.gov.uk.
