Green Waste Bags

There is a fortnightly Green Waste bag collection run by North Somerset Council who have provided the bags. It is for garden waste and corrugated cardboard only. Please try to fill your home composter first. After that place any extra garden waste you have in the sack for collection. Home composters are available from the council – call 01934 888802.

Blagdon's collections occur on Wednesdays, during the winter collections are reduced as less garden waste is produced - a calendar is available to download from www.n-somerset.gov.uk/recycling.

If you do not have a bag please contact the Streets & Open Spaces helpline 01934 888802. You can purchase additional bags from the council or your local gardening centre.

Holiday collections

The green waste bag collection is affected in the same way that normal rubbish collections are by public holidays. As a rule of thumb add a day to your normal collection date for every bank holiday in that week eg. a Bank Holiday Monday will put a collection back to Thursday. Where several Bank Holidays occur together, (Christmas and Easter) it may take several weeks to return to normal; the collection day altering every week and some collections may occur on a Saturday.

Collection places

Place your bag at the edge of your property, nearest the highway, where the lorry can gain access, by 7.30am on the day of collection.
